Who says that all cakes have to be sweet. This very special cheese, Halloumi, gives this cake a very unique, yet hearty taste. Try it once and become a real "fan"!
HALLOUMI CAKE
INGREDIENTS
Egg 3
Halloumi Cheese 1 pack (225 gr.)
Milk 450 ml. (1.5 water glass)
Vegetable Oil 225 ml. (3/4 water glass)
Flour 500 gr. (2,5 water glass)
Baking powder 1 pack
Dry mint 1 tablespoon
HOW TO MAKE:
Start preheating your oven at 210 degrees.
First grate the halloumi cheese (use the big teeth of your grater). Add one tablespoon of dry mint and mix well so that the halloumi cheese is covered with dry mint.
Put 3 eggs in a bowl and whisk them until they are bubbly and white. Then add the vegetable oil and the milk. Mix a little bit more. Add the grated halloumi cheese in the cake batter and mix again. Then start adding the flour gradually; first put one glass of flour (200 gr.) and mix. Then add another glass of flour and the baking powder, then mix. Add the last half a glass of flour in the batter and mix. Your cake batter is ready.
If you are using a silicon mold, you can directly put your cake batter in the mold. If you are using a metal one, first cover the mold with vegetable oil and wipe with paper towel. Then put 1-2 tablespoons of flour and cover the mold with flour by shaking it. If there is any excess flour, you can put it in the cake batter. Then put the cake batter in the mold. Put it in the oven and let it bake at 210 degrees for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, check if the cake is baked well. Let it cool before taking the cake out of it’s mold.
