This Might be my Favorite 2024 LEGO Set

I've been watching a lot of LEGO review videos that last few months. That got me thinking: "Can I make a video like that, but with 3D rendering?". I started to think of ways how I could make reviews a bit more unique and interesting.

A lot of LEGO review videos are very similar. "Here are the builds, here are the minifigures and these are the set exclusive bricks". The visuals are often quite basic and the commentary is often stating things you can clearly see yourself. I wanted to make an attempt to break that basic formula.

I quickly came up with the idea to review the set from a minifigure perspective. Notice that in most photos in the video, you are smaller than the Burger Truck. There are also a few photos from inside the burger truck. This creates an interesting perspective that you normally don't see. Minifigures are often displayed on a lazy susan so I thought it would be fun to recreate that in animation form. It's a bit of a mix of tradition review photos and interesting perspective photos.

Of course a Studframe Animations videos wouldn't be complete without a few references to the LEGO Media games. There is a scene of LEGOLAND in there, which was quite fun to make. The turntable is loosely based on the one from LEGO Racers. and the scene with hand closing the hatch is a reference to the LEGO Loco hand. In hindsight I think I should've done more with that idea. It's a fun gimmick.

Overall I'm quite happy with the result. I do think that I should have been a bit more creative with the script and explore more areas of the set. Like alternate builds and ways you could display it. But I hope I have made a LEGO review that was refreshing to watch. I'm not sure if I'll do more of these but who knows. Let me know if you enjoyed the video!
