RWCA is committed to advancing the field of wild animal health in Rwanda, In November, a team of Rwandan veterinarians completed a training course on wild animal capture for health assessment and intervention, sample collection, and setting up monitoring programmes. First starting with the theory in the classroom, the team later headed to Akagera National Park to put the learning into hands-on practice.
The aim is to build professional veterinary services needed to undertake interventions in the health, welfare and conservation of wild animals.
