Needle Felting: The Gnome

I thought I'd go simple this week, mainly so I wouldn't have to do too much editing but also because I love these little guys. I've seen lots of them around in the past few years at Christmas time but why can't they be for all year round? They seem to be similar to brownies in that they help out around the house and work for sweet food. They also need to be respected or you could be in for some naughty tricks from these cheeky little fellas!
Anyway, if you'd like to make your own then you will need -
A felting surface, I used a cloth bag filled with rice
A fine felting needle
Finger protectors
A felted dome, mine is made from brown carded corriedale fibre.
A selection of carded fibre and roving. I used blue, egg shell and natural grey, but you can use whatever colours you like or even use some natural wool locks for the hair.
