Often this casting is referred to as the Hatra Tractor Shovel, although it simply has 'Tractor Shovel' on the base. Most references say the same. It has a Hatra badge on the back. But exactly who are or were Hatra? That is what I answer in this video, as there is very little information surrounding the company available (in English at least) online.

The casting itself is the first of just two to utilise the big, chunky tyres that it came equipped with, but is so often found missing second hand. The 1968 28D Mack Dump Truck was the other, which actually combines with this casting quite nicely as a set. I had to source replacement tyres from RecoverToy in Australia. The casting is otherwise well detailed and has that great turntable mounted shovel that helps add a lot of play value. A really good model with some interesting history this one.
