The Lake Superior Shore Half Marathon is my 3rd trail half marathon, and one that promised to be an extra fun challenge. The race started at the Little Presque Isle State Park. The race is a fundraiser the local nonprofit, Superiorland Ski Club, a youth focused organization that focuses on Nordic skiing.
The terrain, diverse forests, and rocks, made for a very focused race, and the miles ticked by quickly.
The day before the event, I was able to adventure and explore the area, locating the Black River Falls, and enjoying some hiking and alone time.
I would highly recommend this event; it was well run, friendly staff and volunteers, clear course markings, and fabulous views.
