Dr. Jerrod Brown, PhD., M.A., M.S., M.S., M.S., M.S., M.S., takes a deep dive into how walking can help people with brain injury. He discusses different forms of walking, ways to implement walking to help deal with brain injury issues, manage mental health problems, promote neuroplasticity, combat depression, and ways to use walking "as medicine," to help people deal with brain injury.

Dr. Brown shares ways to begin and implement walking and what to watch out for in terms of stressors and factors that may make walking difficult to implement. He stresses ways to find a qualified provider to help anyone implement walking and how clinicians and therapist can learn to use walking to help their patients, because after brain injury is not a simple task.
Towards the middle of this talk (33 min) and at the end of this talk a great discussion of brain injury and fatigue comes up, because fatigue with brain injury is a major part of the brain injury puzzle. Dr. Brown shares different factors that may influence fatigue and multiple brain injured individuals share their views on the fatigue with brain injury. This discussion has led to a future Brain Injury and Fatigue seminar in 2026 (date to be set).

Dr. Brown and those in attendance discuss the power of walking in nature to improve brain injury symptoms. I recently put out a great discussion with Anessa Arehart about using nature to promote brain injury improvement. This discussion in the Experiencing My Brain podcast and her book are great examples of how nature can be used to improve after brain, and all the truly strange problems that come with brain injury.
