Today we’re learning a fun (and surprisingly useful) drill with Michael Butler, PGA Head Golf Professional—putting with a wedge.
Why try it?
Using the leading edge of a wedge forces you to hit slightly up on the ball, creating true topspin instead of the skid or backspin that can sneak into your putting stroke.
This drill trains you to:
• Roll the ball cleaner
• Improve feel and control on the greens
• Develop a smooth, confident stroke
Bonus: there are moments just off the green where this shot can actually save you—especially from tight lies or fringe where a putter doesn’t quite fit.
