Dr. Jiaying Zhao, architect of Vancouver’s project providing cash transfers to those who are homeless, met today with Canadian Senators to discuss the potential of guaranteed livable income in Canada. Dr. Jiaying Zhao presented evidence debunking myths and exploring the potential of guaranteed livable basic income.
Senators are currently studying Bill S-233 which would require the government to develop a national framework for guaranteed livable income, in consultation with Indigenous, provincial, territorial and municipal governments as well as civil society experts.
