This is a conversation with a retired infantry soldier, Major General (Retd.) Lakhwinder Singh who recently authored a book "Untold Stories of Kargil".
The conversation focused on experiences of the Kargil War as well as what goes on in the mind of a soldier, what do they think of the war, the fears if any, what keeps them focused and how do they generate strength.
The beauty of the conversation was that Maj General's grand daughter Dea Singh Chitalkar, was also joined in and tried to understand the perspective of Indo-Pak conflict, and stories of bravery. Having someone who was born in the times of peace trying to understand the story of how peace was ensured, was interesting.
It a must watch conversation, unique because it brings out the mental strength and humane side of the soldier.
