mtm pilates with Jo Lintern
I have been teaching mindfulness through movement Pilates since 2015 following 20years working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. My shift into teaching Pilates came as a way of healing my own body from the rigours of treating patients with manual therapy and address the compensation patterns my body had developed. I therefore teach with mindfulness at the forefront of movement. Without being mindful of how we move, being in the present and paying attention to what our bodies are doing we can often work incorrectly. When we work mindfully we can bring awareness to poor movement patterns, weak muscle groups and poor posture and regain correct movement pattern resulting in less aches and pains, niggling joints and injury prevention.
If you follow my videos make sure you are in a space where you have no distractions and can really pay attention, listening and learning from your body.
