The idea behind the EXO Chair came from Joseph Pilates original Chair he called the “Wunda.”

It was originally designed as a home exercise machine for small city apartments. It could be converted into a Chair and used as living furniture.

Today, the EXO Chair adds a more contemporary update by adding elastic bands known as Functional Resistance Kits.

I would encourage you to purchase the light yellow resistance kit to add more functional movement exercises to your Pilates practice and to challenge one's strength in various body positions that are found in life, such as sitting, prone (lying on your belly), supine (lying on your back), kneeling, side lying (lying on your side), and my favorite, standing.

The Chair is considered to be the most challenging piece of Pilates equipment within the repertoire and known for building overall strength in the entire body.

There are all kinds of exercises one can do on the Chair and with over 30 different exercise categories, one can work on core strength, leg strength, shoulder girdle stability, mobility and strengthen the upper body for great functional movements such as standing, climbing, pushing, and lifting.

This live EXO Chair session will give you a some general information on the Chair and provide a great workout for the entire body.
