Between the start of BST and trying to start early to minimise contact with people, the first half hour of this video is almost pitch black! We get a nice view of the sky at dawn though, so it could be worse. With hindsight (and if I'd known how dark the path and willow trees were going to look in the video), I should have jogged along the towpath. But as a keen if largely incompetent rower, (three crew wins in eight years, no sculling wins) there was something painful about looking over that glassy water, knowing that a dry, calm, sunny day was starting before the full heat of summer and knowing there was no way to set a racing boat skimming across it... The vid starts to shake a bit once I'm over the Millennium Bridge, but it sorts itself out by the 90 minute mark; not sure what happened there!
