This is a routine designed for beginners and even intermediates can take advantage of it. It is focussed on mastering few of the most basic compound exercises that have managed to pass the test of time. However as a lifter gets more and more experienced, he can add more exercises. But the principle remains same. Choose a handful, become a beast in those.
Monday(push- chest focussed)
Barbell flat bench
5 sets 5 reps
Barbell overhead press
3 sets 8-10 reps
Dumbbell inclined bench press
3 sets 6-10 reps
Close grip bench press
3 sets 8-10 reps
Chest fly
3 sets 10-15 reps
Triceps pushdown
3 sets 10-15 reps
Thursday(push-shoulder focussed)
Barbell overhead press
5 sets 5 reps
Barbell flat bench press
3 sets 8-10 reps
Dumbbell seated shoulder press
3 sets 6-10 reps
Close grip bench press
3 sets 8-10 reps
Lateral raise
3 sets 10-15 reps
Triceps extension
3 sets 10-15 reps
