You lace up your shoes and start running because someone said it’s the best way to get fit.
But what if you’re ignoring the most important opinion in this entire journey–yours?
I tried and failed a few times before I found my groove. Weirdly enough, it was one of the most difficult skills in calisthenics that piqued my interest: the planche.
I couldn’t believe holding your body in that position was even possible. And in that moment, I thought: “That looks insane. I want to learn how to do that.”
Chasing that goal kept me consistent for the first time ever.
When I was younger, drums interested me more than piano. Drawing characters from my favorite video games interested me more than landscapes. And science fiction and fantasy was more enjoyable than the classics I was assigned in school.
Fitness is no different.
If your goal is to be world-class, you’ll need a structured plan and no compromises. But if your goal is to be stronger, healthier, and happier, you have endless paths to get there.
Take a step back and ask yourself: What do YOU find interesting?
Whatever comes to mind would be a great place to start.
