Measuring retracements in trends. This is a handy trend trading strategy video for getting on-board trends you think you've missed. You've been watching a market and it is clearly trending - there's a lovely uptrend or downtrend and you know you want to get on-board the trend. Perhaps you've missed that first initial impulse move back like a bull flag or initial kind of quiver back against the trend that's exploded back up again and you know you want to get long. Or you're already long and you want to add to the position. You don't want to chase trends because they tend to pullback. How do you measure retracements in trends to help us get on board?

How to Buy into a Trend

Some of the key levels we want to look at are standard % retracements. There are often markets that get these kind of retracements before they continue. There are 3% standard retracements: 50% off the highs, 33% off the highs and 66% off the highs. I would be careful about trading the 66% off the high - I would be nervous about trading that.. I would prefer the 30% to 40% level for buying a retracement in an uptrend. Another way to look at it is with Fibonacci Retracements.
