Rollerball 2025: Video #28 - How to Setup a Displacement Map in a Material to add more detail in UE

In this tutorial we will modify the material we made in a previous tutorial to add in the Displacement Map. This will all us to have more detail in our model. We will add the Displacement Map to our Material so that when we setup the Material Instance for that material, the tilling for the Displacement Map will match the rest of the textures in our material.

This tutorial series is intended for beginner game designers interested in using blueprints in Unreal Engine to make their first, or near first game. Having taught in public schools for over 9 years I have learned that everyone learns differently. I discovered that by talking slowly and clearly, students can follow along better. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched videos where everything goes right for the demonstrator but does not for me and then I have to figure out why. Often, it is because they skipped a step in their video. This way, I can show you what happened and how to fix it.
