This video demonstrates the exercises of the menu for backs (low back pain - herniated discs) from the revised edition of Pain Free A Revolutionary method for stopping chronic pain, by Pete Egoscue. Try these exercises and see what works for you.
Posture therapy or Egoscue exercises are meant to help align the load joints (shoulder, hip, knee and ankle as well as improve the natural curves of the spine. This creates balance in the muscles throughout the body which decreases pain. This menu should take about 20- 25 minutes to complete. Skip or stop any exercise that causes pain.
As a posture alignment specialist certified by the Egoscue Institute, I believe posture therapy corrects postural issues that may be the root cause of chronic pain and may serve as a holistic alternative to other types of therapy, drug based treatments, or surgery. However, as always, speak to your physician prior to engaging in any form of exercise. Do not continue any exercise that causes increased pain or discomfort!
