Move - shake off anxiety & stress

So I’ve been feeling quite anxious and agitated over the past few days. Once I recognise that I’m in this state then what serves me is to move my body.
When we are feeling overwhelmed the body is preparing us to fight or flight. This is a natural response to the unconscious brain feeling unsafe due to feeling threatened. Threats can come from a variety of sources, physical, emotional, social, economics etc. So to change our state we need to mobilise the body. Going for a walk dancing in the kitchen, swimming, running, yoga, Zumba whatever type of movement it is changes the state, shaking off anxious residue and resetting the nervous system back in balance.
But what happens if you have chronic pain and you find mobilising difficult and painful? You need to find a sweet spot of movement where you can move pain free. Say for example running causes you pain then you could reduce the speed or distance or walk. If that’s impossible because you’re in high pain then you need to really tell your unconscious self that you are safe so how do you do that?
You do that by doing things that bring you joy like:
*listening to music that you find uplifting
*watching television or reading material that makes you laugh
*having social connection so meeting a friend if you can’t go out to meet a friend, then you could pick up the phone or FaceTime them.
