Welcome to Sizzle With Spice! In today’s video, we’re making perfectly juicy and flavourful Chicken Tandoori Drumsticks with a smoky twist. This recipe is super simple, loaded with desi spices, and brings restaurant-style tandoori taste right to your home kitchen!
Chicken Tandoori Drumstick –
Ingredients:
Chicken drumsticks – 600g
Crushed ginger garlic – 1 tbsp
Crushed green chilli – 1 tbsp
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Hung curd – 250 g
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin powder (jeera)– 1 tsp
Garam masala powder– 1 tsp
Chilli flakes - 1 tbsp
Tandoori Chicken masala – 2 tbsp
Salt – as required (because masalas already contain salt)
Red food colour - 2 pinch
Crushed ginger garlic – 1 tbsp
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Black pepper (kali mirch) – 1/2 pinch
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Olive oil – 3 tbsp
Coal – 1 piece (for smoky flavour)
Butter – ½ tsp (for coal tadka)
Fresh coriander – for garnish
Instructions (step-by-step):
Prep the Chicken:
Take 600g chicken drumsticks and make deep slits. This helps the marinade soak in, making the chicken juicy and flavourful.
Soak in Flavour Water:
Mix water with ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, and lemon juice. Soak the chicken in this mixture for 30 minutes.
Prepare Marination Masala:
In a bowl, add:
Hung curd
Red chilli powder
Coriander powder
Garam masala
Cumin powder
Tandoori masala
Chilli flakes
Ginger Garlic paste
Salt (as needed, since masalas already contain some)
Lemon juice
Kali mirch (black pepper)
Marinate the Chicken:
Add the soaked chicken to the prepared masala. Mix well and coat properly. Add cornflour and olive oil and give it a mix.
Let it Rest:
Cover and let the chicken marinate (at least 30 minutes for best flavour).
Shallow Fry:
Heat a pan, add oil, and shallow fry the chicken pieces. Cook well on both sides until golden brown and cooked through.
Smoky Tadka:
Heat a piece of coal until red hot. Place it in a small bowl or foil cup in the centre of the cooked chicken. Add butter on top of the coal and immediately cover with a lid to infuse smoky flavour. And leave if for 30 min.
Final Touch:
Grease it with butter , Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves on top before serving.
