They told me the "Mainframe" was the most advanced computer ever built. That it could break any code, solve any equation, predict any outcome. My job was simple: sit in Room A and transcribe the output. Copy the numbers. Don't ask questions.

But I noticed things. The sounds through the wall weren't mechanical. The rhythm was wrong—too slow, too wet, like something organic. And the pauses always aligned with the guard rotations. Every single time.

By Week 3, I started analyzing the patterns. Some sequences repeated. Always during shift changes. Always when no one was watching.

I decoded one: W-A-I-T-I-N-G.
