M 13 | Messier 13 "Great Hercules Cluster" & Galaxy NGC 6207 | Astrophotography & Observations

Messier 13, the great hercules cluster : Photographing and observing the night Sky has brought me back around to something I have wanted to track down M 13 | The "Great Hercules Cluster" Globular in the constellation Hercules. Is a fantastic Globular Cluster for all size telescope, beginners and advanced amature astronomers alike, throughout summer. it passes High due south for northern observers the next few months. NGC 6207 is a fantastic target for larger apature, for both visual observation and astrophotography, I used my 8 inch Newtonian with the QHY163m to gather the data for the live view as well as the light frames for the photo. I ran at 400 ISO 180 sec sub frames over 2 separate sessions. I also used the 300p flextube for visual.

Visual observing The Cluster is easy once you locate it and rewarding with this target as it is a great test of seeing conditions, and you can really tease out detail as you get familiar with it over the months and years.

I hope that these videos can give you an idea of how the night sky can look at the eyepiece of a 200 PDS, 200p, 300p flextube or any 200mm 8 inch or 300mm 12 inch reflector telescope and using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. I find when trying to purchase a telescope, it is hard to find out what you can see through the eyepiece .
