Here's a short jump rope workout video where I talk about the subject of preparation. It's not the most glamorous subject, but it's HUGELY important. Your preparation process could be the difference between frustrated, stop-start, hindered training, and progressive, smooth, enjoyable development of your skills.
In this skipping workout video, I discuss jump rope injury and how preparing properly can go a long way to helping you avoid injuries during your skipping rope training.
A bit of relevant background on me: I have been jump rope training for the past 5/6 years, and aside from aches and pains from a tough session; I've barely had any injuries. NEVER affected my ankles; NEVER affected my knees.
"Is jump rope training bad for your knees?" Is one of the most common questions I get from learners and enthusiasts. My response is usually something like: "jump rope is bad for your knees in the same way that squatting is bad for your knees — if you don't prepare properly and execute correctly, it will be bad for your knees"
