VEGAN GRAIN BURGERS
in Skillet Sauté to Transparent (cooked through)
1 Medium Onion (diced)
1/2 Cup Carrots (diced)
1/2 Cup Celery (diced)
Turn burner OFF and stir in:
1/2 Cup Walnuts (diced)
1/3rd Cup Sunflower Seeds (diced)
In Sauce Pan:
Bring to Boil -
4 1/2 Cups Water
1/2 Cup Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
Turn temperature down to low and Stir In:
1 1/2 tsp Italian Seasonings
1 1/2 tsp Basil
1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika (or Chili Powder, or Cayenne)
1 TB Better Than Bouillon Vegetarian
1 TB Onion Powder
2 TB BEAF Vegetarian Seasoning (see video)
1/3 Cup Nutritional Yeast Flakes (I used this and forgot to mention it)
Wait two minutes and stir in the sautéed vegetables and nuts.
Bring to medium for two minutes.
In a bowl put:
4 1/2 Cups Quaker Oats Quick 1 Minute type
Pour in all the hot ingredients and stir well to incorporate the dry and wet.
Package into burgers using large mouth canning jar lids and parchment paper. Put on a plate, place in a large freezer storage bag and freeze. They are ready to bake as needed. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes on one side turn over and smash down a little and bake for 20 more minutes. Smashing down makes them thinner and crispier. Make about 28 Patties.
