In this 30-minute class, we'll focus on strengthening and stabilizing the low back and SI joint for those with lumbar hypermobility. Join me for a challenging yet accessible low back and SI joint workout that combines elements of strength, yoga, pilates, and balance.
Skills required for this class include the ability to tolerate:
Standing
Squatting
Reaching overhead
Lying on your back, side, & belly
Light weight bearing through hands (or modified with push up paddles, or elbows on floor/yoga blocks)
Occasional standing on 1 leg (option for support from your hands)

Hi, I'm Dr. Melissa Kohl! I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy and pilates instructor who has hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. After a severe injury ended my gymnastics career, I searched for exercises that would help feel strong and stable. After much studying and practice, I have created the ChimeraFit method combining the best of elements of Pilates, Yoga, strength, and balance work.
