INGREDIENTS:
4 cups Flour
1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons salt
2 - 4 teaspoons sugar
2 cups warm water, sometimes it takes 1/4 cup less, so start off with 11/2 cups and add as desired.
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon oil for rubbing on the dough
◾
Filling the Dough
4 tablespoons Ghee butter or your chosen preference.
◾
Fill and Wrap Paratha Roti:
Divide Dough into 4 or 5 equal parts
◾
Cooking the Roti
1/4 - 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil for cooking for frying or cooking the roti
◾
Note: You can use a combination of water and full cream milk , let's say 1 cup milk and 3/4 cup water.
I remember when my godmother was making paratha roti and her husband accidentally added coconut milk to the flour, he was supposed to add the milk to the sweetbread bowl, my godmother said , it can't hurt anything and she continued making the roti, .
That Buss-up-Shut was the best tasting and softest roti, after that my godmother made all her roti with milk.
But I personally find the roti made with milk go bad faster than the non milk roti.
So give it a try with the milk and let me know how it comes out.
