14-Minute Guided Upregulating Breathing Session | Energize Your Body + Build Nervous System Resilience
Ready to jumpstart your day with a surge of energy and mental clarity? In this 14-minute guided session, we’ll explore three rounds of upregulated breathing, inspired by the Wim Hof Method. This style of breathwork stimulates your sympathetic nervous system—your body’s natural “get up and go” response—offering a safe and structured way to activate your physiology and enhance your mental state.
What to Expect:
Through rapid, rhythmic breathing followed by intentional breath holds, this session will:
• Energize your nervous system, mimicking the benefits of physical exertion
• Help build mental and physiological resilience
• Improve CO₂ tolerance and lung capacity
• Strengthen the respiratory diaphragm, a key player in breath control
• Provide a controlled experience of stress and recovery to train adaptability
This technique works similarly to how physical training conditions your muscles. By voluntarily activating the stress response and then practicing calm during the recovery phase, you teach your nervous system how to regulate more effectively over time—making you more resilient in everyday life.
A Note on Safety:
This style of breathwork is invigorating and intentionally stimulating. If you are currently:
• Experiencing high levels of anxiety
• Prone to panic attacks
• Dealing with overbreathing or air hunger
…this may not be the best place to begin. I recommend starting with one of my gentler breathing sessions, designed to calm the body and reintroduce you to your breath in a slow, supportive way. In my personal journey, learning how to breathe deeply and gently was essential before progressing to more advanced techniques like this one.
Always listen to your body. If anything feels off, pause. Make sure you’re cleared by your doctor for this type of breathwork, especially if you have any cardiovascular or respiratory conditions.
