In this video, I walk through repairing a broken side frame on a trolley model using a custom 3D-printed replacement part. I start by showing the break, then move into the design and print of the new piece. From there, I trim the supports, wet sand the resin for a smoother finish, and prep the model for gluing.
I also share a few practical tips—like why roughing up smooth resin improves adhesion, and how UV glue can be paired with super glue for a stronger bond. You’ll see the challenges of alignment and how I adjust along the way to get the piece to fit just right.
This isn’t about perfection; it’s about getting a solid repair that works for the purpose of display. Toward the end, I get the part ready for paint and talk about the next step: priming and finishing with a more realistic, used look.
