In this episode of the trolley rebuild project, I finally dig into the fun part—removing the body cover and seeing what’s inside. Using a simple flat screwdriver, I work carefully around the shell, keeping an eye out for fragile tabs and worn parts. Once the cover comes off, we get a look at the motor, gears, pickups, and interior details. The weight drops out, glass panels come loose, and I start sorting pieces into my parts box to keep everything organized (and away from curious cats).
Along the way, I share tips for working with older models—avoiding too much force, looking for wear on gears, and deciding which original parts to keep, replace, or upgrade. We also talk about future plans: stripping the paint, filling holes, cleaning up the motor and pickups, and upgrading to LED interior lighting.
