This video was in part inspired by a video that @drmarkcheng posted on facebook about locking out the hips in the kettle bell swing.
One of the things I liked about his video was his mention of opening the inguinal crease at the top of the movement so that the hip is fully extended (with the glutes activated).
So this is a bit about that action and how you can develop awareness and control of hip extension outside of the kettlebell swing in such a way that you can use it wherever and whenever required.
It's also about how the glutes and the hip flexors (rectus femoris, sartorius and tensor fascia latae) can be used to stabilize the hips in some positions.
And it's also about using the glutes to actively stretch the psoas while standing.
In this video I also go over the basis for how and why I teach muscle control as a means of better "learning your body."
